Japanese Language and Culture Class for Foreign Residents

Class Schedule

  • Wed Morning Class (10:00 a.m. ~ 11:30 a.m.)
  • Thu Evening Class (6:30 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m.)

Class Size

Maximum of 20 students per class

Unique Features

More than one teacher per class; difficulty level, teaching methods

and lesson contents will be tailored according to the students'

Japanese language proficiency and their preferences and requests.

Fees

A lump sum of 1,000 yen for a total of 10 classes

Launch of service of the Kagoshima City Consultation Desk for Foreign residents

Kagoshima City Consultation Desk for Foreign residents opened in Kagoshima City on July 1st. The desk is open to foreign residents of Kagoshima City and provides consultation services for daily life such as status of residence, work, illness, childbirth, child-rearing, and children's education. You can consult in 16 languages and easy Japanese. Consultations are free of charge.

(1) Consultation at the desk

Location: 19-18 Kajiya-cho, Kagoshima City (1 F, International Friendship Center Kagoshima)

Kagoshima Prefectural Board of Education is conducting a questionnaire survey to consider the needs and possibility of the establishment of evening classes at junior high schools. We would appreciate your cooperation. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please send this questionnaire to them. Questionaries can be sent back by filling out the form on the home page or by faxing the sheet.

There are also English and Chinese versions of the questionnaire in addition to the Japanese one.

Consultations for Foreign Residents in Okinoerabu

Foreign residents who are residing in Okinoerabu are welcome to come for a consultation in regard to any problems they are facing or are unsure of.

Two consultants (from Vietnam & Japan) will listen to your questions with complete confidentiality. Your questions will not be discussed elsewhere.

If you would like to book an appointment, please contact us via phone or email.

(Emails should only be sent in English, Japanese or Vietnamese).

Unreserved consultations are possible, but please be aware that those who have booked will take priority.

Release of 'Guidebook on Living and Working for foreign nationals' by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan

The 'Guidebook on Living and Working'contains various essential information for living in Japan. Revisions to the design have been made to the Japanese, Easy Japanese, and English editions of the guide.

The other guidebooks, available in several different languages, are scheduled to be published sequentially.
